CLUB MEETING:

The next club meeting will be held on WEDNESDAY, November 5, at 7:00PM. The meeting will be held at the HolField Gun Club on Whalen Rd. in Bloomfield.

OFFICER ELECTION/BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

Officer Elections were held at the last meeting and new officers voted in are as follows:

President – Don Brault

Vice President – Anthony Barzac (with assistance from his daughters)

Treasurer – Dave Brocklebank

Secretary – Ben Edwards

Trail Coordinator – Joe Lombardo

Safety/Club Historian – Christian Culbertson

Welcome to our new trail coordinator and gracious thanks to our past officers who agreed to continue on leading the club for another season. We’ve accomplished a lot on the last few years and hope to continue that path for many years to come.

SNOW SHOW/GRASS DRAGS:

I hope you had the chance to attend the Grass Drags on Saturday the 11th, if not you missed a great time. The show was a HUGE success, and will only grow in future years. If you did attend, I’m sure you saw what a great success it was, and we hope you had a great time. Many of our new ideas made the event run much smoother. Please come to the meetings to hear details about the show, or look for updates online. Also if you’re interested in helping with the event next year, we’d love to hear your ideas; next year’s committee should be forming soon. On behalf of FLSC I’d like to thank all of the volunteers, couldn’t have done it without you.

New Business:

I’m sure a few of you are wondering about the YMCA Bunkhouse for this season. Good news, we are planning on renting again for this season.

Part of the expense was voted to be taken from the banquet fund, which is $1500. This means that you will now be paying your own way to the banquets.

Other ideas to cover the rest of the expense are still under review, if you have any ideas we’d love to hear them at the next meeting. There will be some stipulations to being able to use this facility; those details will be released before the season opens.

We are looking for ideas to put on this year’s Calendar of Events, ideas welcome at the next meeting.

TRAIL UPDATE/BRIDGES:

As some of you have heard there was quite a change in our trails this year. Over the summer a group got busy several times and successfully completed a trail to the Town of Bloomfield. YAY! Progress! There was a lot of hard work put into this so let’s thank the members who made this possible. We are looking to mark the trail system after gun season; more details will be discussed at future meetings. If you’re interested in helping out be sure to attend the meetings to keep up to date with work days.

And as always, please use care when crossing bridges during the riding season.

Say “HELLO” to Joe Lombardo. He is our new Trail Coordinator. Please come to the meetings or contact Joe via the webmaster if you would like to sign up to help mark the trail, work with landowners or anything else relating to trail work. We always need help with maintenance. Be sure to stop in at the meeting and give Joe your phone number along with the best time to contact you for trail work.
